Discovering the vineyard
On foot or by bike, take the Voie des Vignes: this hillside route is reserved for cyclists and walkers.
Northwards, towards Beaune, you will cross the vineyards of Meursault, Monthelie, Volnay and Pommard.
Southwards lie the celebrated appellations of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, as far as Santenay — some ten kilometres from Meursault.

In the village itself, the Château de Meursault opens its cellars every day: the visit ends with a tasting of up to eight wines. Admission charged, no booking needed.
On Fridays, from May to September, Les Terrasses de Cîteaux offer a guided walk through the vines followed by a tasting of the estate’s wines.

The big dates around Meursault
The vineyard has its own calendar. Here are the dates that fill every bed on the Côte de Beaune, and the ones we like for coming without the crowds.
- Late JanuaryThe Saint-Vincent Tournante
Burgundy’s winegrowers’ festival moves to a different village every year. In 2027 it comes to Volnay, 3 km from the cottage, on 30 and 31 January.
- In springThe Paulée de printemps
A second, more intimate Paulée, held in Meursault far from the November crowds.
- Every FridayMeursault market
A dozen or so stalls on the place de l’Hôtel de Ville, Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm, 300 m from the cottage.
- Every SaturdayBeaune market
One of the great markets of Burgundy: some 180 stalls around the Halles, Saturday mornings until 1 pm.
- Late August – SeptemberThe harvest
The vineyard in full swing, tractors in the village streets and cellars that smell of must. The liveliest time of year to understand the work of the vine.

Everything is within walking distance of the cottage: the tourist office 250 m away, the church at 300 m, the bakery at 300 m and the pharmacy at 350 m.
Four bicycles are lent free of charge, one of them fitted with a child seat. The Voie des Vignes, reserved for cyclists and walkers, runs through the village.
8 km, about fifteen minutes by car. Pommard is 5 km away, Chagny 10 km and Chalon-sur-Saône 25 km.
